Listen to music

1. Add music to your device (learn how).
2. Open Music.
3. Tap a category: Albums, Artists, Songs, Genres, Playlists or Folders. If your device has streaming, there is also Streaming (learn how). On a phone the categories are tabs at the top; on a tablet they are on the left.
4. Do one of the following: - To play a song and the ones after it: Tap the song. - To play an album, artist or playlist: Open it and tap Play or Shuffle. - To play everything at random: Tap Shuffle in the bar above the list. On a small screen, tap the Sort and shuffle button beside the tabs > Shuffle All.

Music keeps playing when you close its card, switch to another app or turn off the screen. While it plays, controls appear in the notification area.

Music pauses for a phone call and carries on afterward. You can change this in Preferences.

To stop the music, pause it, or swipe away its notification.
