Use video playback controls
Tap the screen to show or hide the controls. They hide by themselves after a few seconds of playing, and stay while the video is paused.
- Play/pause: The button in the middle of the bottom row.
- Back or forward 10 seconds: The buttons on either side of play/pause.
- Move anywhere in the video: Drag the seek bar. The time played and the time left are on either side of it.
- Speed: The speed button, from 0.5x to 2x.
- Audio track and subtitles: The buttons at the left of the row. See Use subtitles and audio tracks.
- Fullscreen: The fullscreen button shows or hides the status bar and gesture area.
- Turn the picture: On a tall screen, the turn button turns a wide video.
- Lock: The lock at the top right turns off the controls and taps, for when the device is in your hand or pocket. See Lock the screen while watching a video.
Double-tap to switch between the whole picture and filling the screen.
The Videos app remembers where you stopped. When you start again, tap Start over to go back to the beginning.
