Turn auto-dim on/off
Open Display > turn Auto Dim on or off.
With Auto Dim on, the ambient light sensor lowers the backlight in the dark and raises it again in daylight.
Checked against the LuneOS code and installed apps. Nobody has tried these steps by hand yet, so tell us if something differs.
